Granola Bar

Happy Superbowl sunday to all my american football friends!

I’m already prepping my wings for tonight and will hopefully share that recipe with you in a few days. But that’s not what I want to show you today.

No, today I’ll show you how to make my amazing granola bars.

Melt together 4 teaspoons of muscavado sugar, 3 teaspoons of coconut oil and 2 teaspoons of water. In a separate pot mix 3 dl(=1.2 cups) of oatmeal, 100 grams of various chopped up nuts(I chose almonds and macadamia), a handful of sunflower kernels, a teaspoon of sesame seeds and ½ teaspoon of linseed. Add 2-2½ tablespoons of honey and your melted sugar mixture, stir thoroughly to make sure everything is covered.

Put a sheet of baking paper in an oven tray and pour your mixture in. Take another sheet to put on top and start pressing down. For your granola bars to stay in a bar form, and not completely disintegrate, the mixture needs to be very compact, so put all your weight behind it and press as hard as you can!

Put the oven tray in a 200 degree(celsius) oven for 15 minutes. Take it out and leave to cool. If your bars seem soft just put them back in the oven for a little bit longer. Just be careful as nuts tend to burn quite quickly.

Once it cools all the way, you just take it out of the tray and start cutting it into bars.

This is a fantastic snack!
